You’ve heard rumors, maybe even seen the madness live, but finally, after years of perfecting the blend, Josh Martinez is ready to announce a release date for his hyperactive rock project The Pissed Off Wild.
After 5 years of uninhibited disappointment, setbacks, failure, fire, raining frogs, garbage strikes, Stephen Harper, Roofies and sexually transmitted innuendo, the PISSED OFF WILD album has made its way into the oozing viscuous puss of the modern era. Started five years ago in Vancouver, BC, when Martinez was full of chutzpah, ample virginity and the full breasted lifestyle of a young hungry dreamer, The Pissed Off Wild album is a triumph of tribulations.
The album is titled “The Bender is Dead…” as a testament to finishing something destined for historic revision, an incredible musical journey that five years ago was cutting edge and to this day is still ahead of the curve of 99% of the new indie rap game. The one rule was that each song could not have more than 2 verses of rap and most have significantly less. It moves from minimal punk fight songs, to drunk Irish singalongs, to gorgeous melancholy heartache that sounds like the Black Keys at their best.
A lot of opinions and spilled milk later, the project was finally completed over XMAS this year. Mixed by young genius Prince “Rick Rubin” Strickland, the final product is a masterpiece in no uncertain terms. Fans of Martinez solo work will see in this project a return to an older style, a looser Martinez (if such a thing is even possible) a more naive, vulnerable, intellectual piss-ant, but with cockiness ratcheted up to beyond all measure.
It was a cocky era, full of cocky bandmates who would almost always get into fist fights with other bands on the bill they deemed were less worthy. It got so punk rock that THE POW were banned from the city of Vancouver for a year while the tension died down. The band spent much of that year touring Japan, Hawaii and Australia, building up a reservoir of fight songs and new kinds of punches.
Sadly, there is currently no such thing as the band left to play this music, but originally, the Pissed Off Wild was made up of Martinez on lead vocals and congas, Pete Schmitt on bass, Jesse Waldman on guitar, Kenton Loewen on drums. Jesse was tragically killed in a hippie stampede on an unnamed Gulf Coast Island, and Kenton contracted “the fever” and has been on the road playing hired gun drums for the highest bidder in every awesome place since. So the Pissed Off Wild, as it was once known, is no more. But the music stands as a testament to a forward thinking journey into the most remote regions of music thievery, borrowing solidly from HipHop, Punk, Jazz, Soul, Blues Rock and anything else we thought we could pull off at the time.
The Pissed Off Wild was named after a friends father, who, whilst raising three teenage daughters, would often find his patience bored down the gullyhole. When confronted with the sassy female teenager bravado, he would shake his fist relentlessly, yelling with increasing pitch that he was getting “PISSED OFF…WILD!!!!”. The Music was made over 3 years, with no click tracks and beds laid down and messed with forever, as Martinez worked his lyrics and singing into a place where it matched the power of the music. The fighting, the sadness, the regret, the beauty and the times have never been more evident than on this project, Josh Martinez & The Pissed Off Wild – The Bender is Dead….

Evil Ebenezer’s masterpiece ”Evil Eye” has dropped to rave reviews from Juggalos, bloggers and a shit ton of unnecessary hate from the fundamentalist Christian community in the US of A. Buy it here and learn what the fuss is all about. HTTP://CAMOBEARDIGITAL.COM/EVIL-EBENEZER-EVIL-EYE
The album is full of bangers like “Take Me With You” and the new single “Ghostbusters”, which has a brand new video for it directed by the decrepit Stuey Kubrick and guest starring Snak The Ripper as Satan himself.
From underground hip hop heads to popular music fans, everyone will find their heads nodding to the new album. Evil Eye is the perfect soundtrack for making Halloween year around. With topics ranging from his current standing in life to just laid back smoke out songs, Evil Eye may surely be Mr. Ebenezer’s best work yet.
We have Snak the Ripper albums right here right now. In their physical form, they are impeccable. They smell like shitty couch and paint. They are a digi-pack, meaning they are made with environmentally responsible plastic and will fit in every cd player and play perfectly on a record player and/or anything with a laser (including pointers).
If you haven’t known about Snak the Ripper by now, you probably don’t break the law enough. Get in the game pussies. Its Snak o’clock.
